How to Make Quick Iced Tea posted by Stanley Mburu on March 26 2021

Make Delicious Ice Tea At Home in Minutes

Always loved iced tea but don’t have any in the fridge ready to go? Did you know it’s super quick and easy to make your own? And if you do make your own, you can create any flavour you like!

quick iced tea

In fact, it’s so quick, easy and delicious that once you’ve made your own, there’s no chance you’ll be buying the ready-made (and expensive) branded iced teas from the supermarket again!

Our quick and easy iced tea recipe will make a pitcher or jug to pop in the fridge and serve. The perfect summer drink to have ready to go!

First, Choose Your Tea

The first thing you need to do is to choose which kind of tea you want to use for your iced tea. If you like classic iced tea, this will just be black tea bags. Choose traditional English Breakfast or opt for ultimate flavour with our Imperial Black tea.

But that’s not your only option.

Why not get a bit more creative? You can choose mint tea or pure green tea or really any flavour you want. Why not try something truly unique like our Earl Grey with Mint or even refreshing Lemon Verbena for a herbal take on the drink.

The only other things you’ll need:

  • Water
  • Ice
  • Sugar or honey
  • Optional lemon, orange or mint to garnish

How to Make Iced Tea

Ok, so let’s get to the making. We told you it was easy and we weren’t fibbing.

  1. Make your hot tea concentrate. Use 0.5L of hot water and 4-6 tea bags depending on how strong you like it to taste.
  2. Add your choice of sugar or natural honey here, while the tea is still hot and stir.
  3. Wait for 5 minutes.
  4. Next, add in 1L of cold water and leave to steep for another 3-5 minutes.
  5. Remove the tea bags.
  6. Fill your jug with ice cubes and add the tea mixture.
  7. Finally, add your chosen garnishes and stir into the drink.

Our fave way to serve our quick and easy iced tea? Prepare in tall glasses with even more ice and some extra garnish around the rim of the drink – just to make it look extra fancy for your guests this summer!

See – we told you this was super simple! And trust us when we say how yummy it is. Plus, when you make it yourself instead of buying ready-made, you can make it as sweet or citrus as you prefer. Plus, you know exactly what has gone into it – i.e. minimal added sugar or artificial sweetener.
